More than 1200 people are due to run the Newry City Marathon this morning.

It'll be the tenth anniversary of the event with the main event getting underway at 11 o'clock.

The races include the wheelchair marathon, a half marathon, a 10-mile walk, a 10 kilometre run and a fun run which cover a mile.

Drivers in the city are advised to drive with due care for racers, and to check ahead for restrictions which are expected until around 2:30pm.

PSNI and race marshalls are directing and controlling traffic through the City Centre.
