The Co, Tyrone road was closed overnight between Tamnamore roundabout and its junction with Moor Road.

I'm really sorry to hear about the tragic incident on the Ballynakilly Road last night, the loss of life again on our roads.

Local councillor Robert Thomas Colvin said this was a "tragic loss of life:"

"My sympathies go out to the family of the lady who has lost her life."

The councillor also expressed his concerns about the safety of the road:

"I just feel this is a section of road that really needs to be looked at it.

"It's really become the unofficial bypass now to try and avoid Cookstown and Dungannon.

"That junction where the traffic does travel by very fast needs to be looked at and is something I will take up with the road service myself."
