A Hitchcockian Evening
Friday, January 25th, 2019
Chaos Theory Theatre and Frontier Pictures have collaborated with US writer/director Scott Fivelson to bring you a double bill of his Alfred Hitchcock inspired one-act plays, that aim to blur the lines between theatre and film:
Dial L for Latch-Key
She tried to dial M for murder, but instead she accidentally dialed L for Latch-Key.
A plotting husband who strongly resembles Ray Milland.
A framed wife as elegant as Grace Kelly.
An inspector straight out of Monty Python.
Hitchcock would be turning in his grave if he weren’t suiting up for his cameo.
Leading the Witness
Night has fallen over New York City.
In an apartment, two plainclothes detectives play cards, killing time as they babysit a witness who couldn’t have seen a thing.
The witness, a young blind woman named Maddy, knows he’s out there, yet doesn’t seem to give a care if she lives or dies.
Previously produced in London, San Francisco and Toronto, it will be Scott Fivelson's Northern Irish debut of which he said, 'For a Chicago boy who came to writing by discreetly following – at a distance – Kenneth Branagh and the films of Daniel Day-Lewis – it’s beyond good tidings to have two of my one-acts being brought to the stage in Belfast’.
