Business leaders welcome Stormont's relaxation dates for reopening the economy

Business leaders in Northern Ireland have welcomed the executive's indicative timeline published - for reopening the economy. 

Stormont ministers signed off on a plan yesterday evening - after four hours of discussions - with three key relaxation dates. 

They're fast tracking the reopening of the region's tourism and hospitality sectors - with cafes and restaurants allowed to serve customers outdoors from the 30th of April. 

Services can then resume indoors the following month on the 24th of May - when tourist accommodation can also reopen. 

However, before that some of the relaxations include the reopening of close contact services, outdoor competitive sport and resuming driving lessons on the 23rd of April. 

First Minister Arlene Foster says there's light at the end of the tunnel:

The 30th of April will see the reopening of gyms and swimming pools for individual activities.

Gareth Kirk, the director of GLL which runs Belfast's 'Better Gyms' says while he wishes they could reopen sooner - it's good news:
